Hi guys! Now that spring has come (though not really in Chicago), I’m sure everyone is ready to spend as much time outside the house as possible. Well, I have an amazing suggestion for my St. Louis friends (or for visitors!).
Explore the St. Louis Zoo!
Honestly, the Zoo is one of my favorite things about St. Louis. Edo and I visited it on a nice winter day last year, but I can only imagine how nice of a destination it must be in spring and summer! I am eager to visit it and experience it with warmer weather.
There’s not much to say about the St. Louis Zoo other than the fact that it hosts SO many different animal species, including alligators and crocodiles, elephants, and giraffes. It was built in 1913 inside of Forest Park, which by the way is the second largest park in the United States after Central Park in Manhattan! Since then, the Zoo has become one of the symbols of the city of St. Louis, and it truly is a gem! It’s the perfect tourist activity but it is also enjoyed by locals, it’s fun to visit as a family or on a date and it’s just one of those attractions that never gets old! They also host many fun events throughout the year. On top of that, the Zoo is absolutely free to visit! Therefore, it’s the perfect activity to enjoy if you’re on a budget. It was actually voted America’s Top Free Attraction!
I’ll now let you check out a few pictures I’ve taken the last time I was there: enjoy!
Can you tell I love penguins? They’re so cute!
Basically, I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to visit the St. Louis Zoo next time you take a trip to St Louis – or anytime if, like Edo, you live in the city. He actually lives very close to the park so, for us, it was a no-brainer! We actually can’t wait to go again; Edo loves all animals and last time I was there, I didn’t get to see the giraffes, so now we have to go back.
If you’re interested in reading more about even more St. Louis things to do, you can check out what we did the first time we were there, what we visited and where we ate (obviously, because #priorities!). Also, if you’ve ever been to the St. Louis Zoo before, I would love to hear your thoughts about it in the comments below!
