The Most Beautiful College Campuses in the US

Hi guys! Let’s get right into it. I’ve been wanting to write this post for a while because college campuses are one of my favorite things to see when I travel! In fact, I’ve visited a bunch, and this is a list of my favorites. So add them to your bucket list and make sure to check them out on your next trip!

Sewanee: The University of the South

It’s not Hogwarts, but almost: people actually do wear gowns to class at Sewanee.

I’ve written about Sewanee before: my (fake) cousin Livia goes there, so I once went to visit her during their big Christmas celebration, Lessons and Carols. I wrote about it here.

This Southern Tennessee liberal arts college truly is a hidden gem: if you walk around, you will more than likely feel like you’re in England, perhaps strolling through Oxford, Sewanee’s main architectural inspiration. On top of that, there are literal hikes all around campus that you can go on when the weather is nice. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend you pay them a visit!

Princeton University

Livia and I toured Princeton this past Thanksgiving break and the visit left us so awestruck! Not only is the campus absolutely gorgeous, giving us all the Ivy League vibes, but the town itself is super cute, too!

We seriously loved it. Livia decided she’ll apply there for her PhD! In the meantime, we had fun pretending to be Ivy League students for a couple of hours!

Duke University

Duke is probably the most beautiful college campus I’ve ever seen in my life. I got the chance to visit it a couple of years ago, when I went to see my friends Jessica and Michael, who live in Raleigh, NC. Duke is actually super close to Raleigh, so we took a day trip there.

We were mesmerized by the beauty of the architecture. Their church is especially breathtaking, both on the inside and the outside.

Plus, I’ve heard that if you visit in the spring, you’ll be able to see all of their cherry trees as they blossom and turn pink! If you want to read more about Duke, I wrote about it in my list of Top Budget-Friendly Attractions in Raleigh; it also made my list of the Top 5 Places I’ve Visited in 2017 (under Raleigh, NC).

Harvard University

Did Harvard make the list just because it’s Harvard? Possibly. The campus itself isn’t as stunning as some of the other ones on this list, but it’s noteworthy because we’ve all seen it in movies and TV shows. If you’re touring college campuses, you have to see it. If you’re in Boston, you have to pay it a visit. All of the red buildings make this campus super characteristic, and if you want, you can walk around with a snobby look on your face and act like you go there.

Brown University

My parents live in Providence, so I’ve been to Brown a number of times. I love their campus, but I especially love their library. It’s honestly #studygoals. I’m not entirely sure if it’s open to the public or not, but it’s definitely worth seeing (and sneaking into!)

Stanford University

Flying all the way to the other side of the country, I have awesome memories of my visit to Stanford. I love my New England universities, but it was really nice hanging out in a sunny Californian campus. The architecture was gorgeous, and the campus itself was so green!

That is all I have for my top college campuses! Which one is your favorite? Who did I forget? Let me know in the comments below!
