Best Photo Spots in Chicago

Have you ever had a piece of content go viral? That’s recently happened to me on Jumprope, a platform that I’ve only started using a few months ago and I really like, even though I am not that familiar with it, just yet! Anyway, for some reason, when I posted a video of cool photo spots around Chicago, that content took off and even showed up on the Google news homepage – must’ve been a slow news day!

Given the enthusiasm and traction generated by that post, I decided to create an even better version of it for the blog: I’ve included spots I forgot about when I first made the list, and added all of the addresses, too!

1. Ping Tom Memorial Park

Ping Tom Memorial Park is located at 1700 S Wentworth Avenue. Here, you’ll be able to take pictures with grungy, urban frames and backgrounds (like the photo below) but also in Chinese-inspired backgrounds, as the park is located within the Chinatown neighborhood. This location offers a great view of the Chicago skyline, too, and views of the Chicago river. You really can go all out for a photoshoot at Ping Tom Park!

2. Cermak McCormick Place L Train Station

Located on 12 East Cermak Road, this is an elevated CTA L train stop, and it is part of the Green Line. Its rounded tunnel-like shape make it the perfect place to play with perspective!

3. Doughnut Vault

The entrance of Doughnut Vault is literally picture perfect. just look at that blue door and at that menu written on the wall! You can find Doughnut Vault at 401 N Franklin Street.

4. The Bean (Cloud Gate)

Who isn’t familiar with the Bean? It’s pretty much the number one photo op in the city of Chicago. Therefore, it obviously made the list. You can find the Bean at 201 E Randolph St, although it is currently “closed to the public”. That basically means that you can only photograph it from a distance.
